The A to Sea philosophy
A to Sea is a journey and a story of an Ocean. Andy left the UK in 2002 aboard his Sparkman and Stephens' 38' sloop 'Oceana' and amassed over 30,000 Nautical Miles on what he calls his 'Atlantic Ocean Jaunt' including three solo trans-Atlantic crossings. He worked in a variery of marine trades in the Caribbean and the USA and A to Sea LLC represents the culmination of knowledge and experience gained during this time.
Servicing and maintaining boats and an interest in marine electrical and electronics started as a hobby for Andy as a yacht owner. Arriving in the Caribbean Mega Yacht capital St Maarten he worked as Senior Technician for Atlantis Marine NV, a PADI Divemaster for local dive shop Ocean Explorers and a delivery captain. As the captain of a Swan 54 sailing yacht he arrived in Rhode Island in 2017 and is now a resident of the Ocean State.
Working as a technician and crew member on a variety of vessels from 350' Mega Yachts to 14' RIBs, sports fishing boats, sailing yachts and commercial vessels Andy has gained experience in all aspects of maintaining and running boats. A to Sea reflects this breadth of experience and all work undertaken by the company meets the high standards of workmanship and use of quality materials essential in the marine environment.
